O znaczeniu listu mówi Adam Ostolski w wypowiedzi cytowanej w artykule Tadka Markiewicza w Medium.com:

Adam Ostolski, sociologist (University of Warsaw) and one of the authors of the letter, underlines that the EU has no other choice but to act now:
“You wouldn’t ask Churchill if his idea of Dunkirk evacuation would be “too costly” for the economy. Would you? Obviously, it was very costly, but it was about saving lives and, no less importantly, it was about saving a community that is worth living for. Such is, we argue, also the challenge Europe is facing right now. We believe Europe can afford solidarity with those at risk of being left behind. And if we were to be proven wrong, that would mean she cannot afford herself.”
